Meet Our New Football Development Manager

When advertising for our recent Schools Manager role, we had so many fantastic applicants. So many in fact that we felt it necessary to create an additional role in the business to provide uSports with the opportunity to grow and develop even further. With the Schools Manager role working to maintain and develop the quality of provision in our schools programme it was a no brainer to create a similar role for our Football Community programme. uSports are proud to offer a wide range of sports and activities but we can't lie, we do love Football! uSports runs a range of Football sessions including Toddler Football, Football Development Centres, Football Holiday Camps and Grass Roots Football Coaching. So, please allow us to introduce you to the man responsible for developing and maintaining the quality of provision in all of these sessions; meet Rob!

Rob joins the team with many years of sports coaching experience in schools and football coaching settings. Rob has delivered PE in schools for many years but has a real passion for Football Coaching specifically and is currently working towards his UEFA B qualification. With a real drive to offer fantastic quality football coaching, both through his sessions and through helping other coaches to develop, we are sure that Rob will be fantastic in the role!

Fun Fact: Charlie saw Rob while at the gym with a sneaky suspicion that Rob may be a sports coach and approached him about the Schools Manager role and he then applied!

The Role

The Football Development Manager is responsible for ensuring the uSports philosophy is fully embedded throughout our football programme by working to maintain and improve the quality of service in our sessions. The Football Development Manager will also have Senior Mentor responsibilities which will allow uSports coaches to be further supported across the full uSports provision.

Some of the tasks which you can expect to see the Football Development Manager carrying out are:

Maintaining Quality

  • Conducting regular visits to review and reflect on the provision in our football sessions

  • Mentoring school and community coaches to help them to reach their greatest coaching potential

Session Implementation

  • Identifying and implementing new opportunities for our Community Football Programme.

We are very excited for Rob to bring some extra care and attention to our Football programme at uSports and we are sure it will continue to grow and develop at an even greater rate!

Welcome to the team Rob🥳
