We were so pleased to be able to run our holiday camps this summer and were so happy to see so many of you back down at the camp! Perhaps even more so than ever before, the importance of children keeping active has really been highlighted. We were close to being fully sold out for our entire summer holiday camp so we know that you all must have been feeling the same.
As times move on and new developments come to light, we are aware that we need to make sure that we are constantly updating and reviewing our holiday camp procedures to make sure we are offering you the absolute best service.
What Is New?
Matches
While this is not entirely new as we were able to introduce matches in the middle of summer, we thought this still important to point out for you all! Following current guidelines and advice from the FA we are now allowed to have matches. With that in mind we will have additional organisational control measures in place to reduce the risk but please can you remind your children the importance of staying in the age group bubbles we have set out.
Bubble Football Friday (or Thursday)
Bubble Football in the past has always proven such a popular choice for our sports camps and birthday parties alike. We will be bringing our bubble footballs to the final day of each or camps (Friday at Woodley and Thursday at Caversham) for fun and hilarity! The bubble footballs will be cleaned between use by each child and a deeper clean before being transferred between bubbles. There is no extra cost for using the bubble footballs so do make sure to get that final day booking in to make the most of this!
Indoor Space
As guidelines changed over summer indoor spaces became available but we made the choice to remain solely outdoors. As we move into the colder months we feel that is necessary to have indoor space available for extreme weather conditions only. This will be an opportunity to warm up and dry off so the camp will continue to take place predominantly outdoors and will only be used when it is absolutely necessary. Don't forget to bring warm, wet weather clothing and a woolly hat and gloves are always advisable! It is also recommended to bring a spare change of clothes in case the rain soaks us!
100% Money Back Guarantee
With talks of a circuit breaker we want to reassure you that if we are able to go ahead we will certainly continue to run. However, if we are prevented from running our camps due to government restrictions we will be refunding all money paid by parents on our October camps.
What Is Staying The Same?
Football Plus
Football will be the main focus of each day with socially distanced football games and activities where we have eliminated contact. As well as fun games, children will also be able to practice individual skills and techniques with our football coaches. Games and activities which you may see on the camp include:
Piggy in The Middle
Football Tennis
Football Golf
Shooting Practices
Passing Games
And more!
Plus
If you have ever attended one of our camps before, you will know that matches are a big part of the day. While we aren't currently able to have matches, we are still more than able to fill this time up with lots of other fun sports. Other sports may include:
Dodgeball NEW
Speed Radar Guns NEW
Tennis
Fitness Challenges
And more as the guidelines change!
Drop Off and Pick Up
When you booked on to one of our groups, it will have let you know your specific start and finish time. Here are the times in case you aren't sure!
Each group is allocated a 15 minute time frame to drop off and pick up to prevent too
many people congregating at the venue.
If you are late or early, we may have to ask you to wait before dropping off or picking up until other groups have finished their time slot. We will sign in children (or groups of siblings) one at a time so we ask you to please maintain social distancing while waiting to be signed in.
Toilets
We have ordered separate portable toilets for each group which will be inspected and cleaned regularly throughout the day. Each toilet will be assigned to a group and will be used by that group only throughout the whole of Summer.
Breaks and Lunch
Each group will spend break and lunch under their own allocated gazebo. Children will be asked to wash their hands before and after eating and our coaches will remind children not to share food at any point during the day. NEW In extreme weather conditions children may be able to eat indoors with their group following social distancing guidelines.
We plan to continue to offer a short bit of free play where children will be supervised playing their own games providing they follow social distancing rules.
Lunch is always followed with a coaches challenge such as a crossbar challenge. There will be prizes up for grabs here so children need to bring their A game!
We look forward to seeing you at the camps this October!
