What a summer we had in women's sport! The Lionesses were a highlight winning the UEFA Women's Championship which was truly inspiring. It has been so fantastic this past year to see women's football gaining more coverage and interest from the public. Women's football is a sport full of inspirational athletes who are now beginning to get the respect which they very much deserve!
At uSports we want to provide a positive experience for as many children as possible. It's important for us to create a welcoming environment where girls feel comfortable and we can build their confidence. We have been focusing on ways to encourage more girls to get involved with our football programme here at uSports and we would love to see some of your daughters, grand-daughters, nieces or other budding young female footballers getting involved with uSports!
How Are Girls Only Sessions Different?
Our girls only sessions are different as they are led by our friendly female coaching team. We have a number of experienced female football coaches who are all keen to encourage the next generation of female players to get involved with the sport! While the sessions will be led by our female coaches, the content will be the same to our other mixed sessions but by providing an all female environment, this is more inviting for some girls.
Can Girls Join Other Sessions?
Of course! Girls are able to book onto all of our sessions including our football camps and development centres! We regularly have girls attending all of our sessions but have the girls only option available for those who would feel more comfortable in that environment.
What Girls Only Sessions Are There?
GIRLS ONLY FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
Whether they are new to football or already playing in a team, our Girls Only Football Development Centre is a great opportunity to develop skills and techniques used in Football. This session takes place alongside our Woodley Football Development Centre held at the Waingels College 3G Pitch every Thursdays evening from 5.15pm to 6.15 pm. These sessions are suitable for girls aged between 5 - 11 years old (School Year 1 - Year 6).

GIRLS ONLY HOLIDAY CAMP
We run a girls only football holiday camp over the school holidays. During the Summer 2022 holidays we saw over 50 different girls join our Girls Only Camp held at Woodford Park Leisure Centre in Woodley. It was great to see lots of smiles and energy in the group over the holidays and we look forward to seeing more girls join us in October Half Term! This camp is open for children from Foundation to Year 7 (4 - 12 years old).
