How We Are Getting Ready For May & Summer Holiday Camps

Each school term seems to get shorter and shorter when it comes to planning camps for the next school holidays! When we started uSports the process was relatively quick and simple with one or two camps running, but now with the number of venues, staff & children attending the camps it is a mammoth task! So, we thought we would let you know just what goes into getting our camps ready and also to let you know what you can look forward to for May Half Term & Summer Holidays this year 😎🌞

Which Camps Are Running Over May Half Term & Summer?

What Do We Do Before The Camps?

For all of you wondering just what it is we need to do before each camp starts, here is a list of what we do and I am sure there is lots more!

  • Confirming availability with venues

  • Confirming funding with local councils for HAF spaces

  • Arrange staffing including site managers, head coaches, assistants & work experience placements

  • Sorting out equipment (you would be amazed how many footballs we buy every 6 weeks!)

  • Preparing the website & booking links

  • Creating adverts & flyers to share online and to hand out in person

  • Meet with site managers to let them know the plans for the camp

What Do We Do After The Camps?

Once the fun of the camps is over, we then have to pack everything down and begin the rush to get all of the equipment back from the camps, allocated out and collected again by the coaches ready for the new term after the weekend. As time has gone on, preparation for the next holiday camp period starts before we even finish the one we are in to allow us time to get everything ready! Somewhere within this we might even have time to squeeze in a quick staff social to thank everyone for all of their hard work at the camps too 🥳

Then it all starts again! But, we love it really and can't wait for each holiday and to see all of the kids back down at the camps. See you in 11 days for May Half Term!!
